Seeley’s Bay Pastoral Charge Annual Talent Auction 2020 – the Online version.

*** Please read carefully the instructions as we have made some slight changes this week to bidding on items where there are multiples of one item and reminders about messaging of highest bidders, payment and pick up. ***

To ensure a pleasant bidding experience please read carefully the instructions on how to access the album, how to bid, pick up and pay . There will be 3 different lots which will go online for bidding in the following order:

Week 1 -Sunday, Nov. 15 at 6:00 pm until 6:00 pm sharp on Friday, Nov. 20
Week 2- Sunday, Nov. 22 at 6:00 pm until 6:00 pm sharp on Friday, Nov. 27
Week 3- Sunday, Nov. 27 at 6:00 pm until 6:00 pm sharp on Friday, Dec. 4

Any bids entered after 6:00 pm on each of the 3 Fridays, will not be considered. The winning bid will go to the highest bidder before or at 6 pm. Each auction item or package is pictured with a description, and minimum bid and bid increments included in the photo caption. Please read carefully as to not be disappointed.

At 6:00 pm the auction album will disappear from the Facebook page to ensure that no other bids are made. It will become unavailable for bidding but will return when we have finished collecting the information required and commented on each item who the successful bidder has been.

Please check your private messages often on Friday night as we will be notifying you through Facebook Messenger if you have been the highest bidder and give you further instruction. If you would rather be contacted in a different way, (e.g. phone or email) please include that with your bid. Please note that we will not be responsible for privacy issues that may arise due to this public sharing of information like phone numbers and email addresses.

If you have bid on an item where there are multiple items available , you will have a choice of one or more and we will need to know quickly the number of items you are taking so we can offer the remaining items to the next highest bidder. To allow us the opportunity to notify all successful bidders quickly, please indicate how many of the items you will be taking when you make your bid. (e.g. $15 -want 2)

Items should be picked up between 10 am and 11 am each week on the Saturday (Nov. 21, Nov. 28 and Dec. 5) after the auction you bid on has closed.

How to bid:
1. You will only be able to make a bid in the comments section if you have a Facebook account. We apologize for this but if you do not have a Facebook account or do not want to open one, please ask a friend to bid for you.

2. Click on the very 1st photo in the album. This will open up the whole album so you can scroll through all the items.

3. When you find something you want to bid on, click on the exact photo you are interested in and comment under the photo with your bid amount. Look at all comments for the item to ensure yours is the new highest bid and that your bid is following the bidding increment amount. Facebook will often show the most “relevant” comment and not the most recent or all comments. Therefore, you need to look at them all to make sure.

• Bidding is in full dollar increments.

• Please only comment with your bid amount or to tag a friend.

• If there are multiple items the same, include with your bid the number of the items you will be taking. (e.g. $15 -want 2 ) the bidder with the highest bid will have their choice of taking just one of the items or as many as they wish for the same price. If they only want to purchase one of the items then the second item will be offered to the next highest bidder but for the price paid by the highest bidder.

4. You can click on the 3 dots (•••) in the upper right corner of an item and choose 'Turn on Notifications for this post' to be notified when someone else bids on an item you're following. Make sure to turn on the notifications for each item you are interested in.

5. Remember to keep checking back to ensure you have the winning bid!

If you are the successful bidder:

7. We will notify you on the evening of the closing if you are the successful highest bidder by replying to your bid comment and by private message. If you would rather be contacted in a different way, (e.g. phone or email) please include that with your bid. Please note that we will not be responsible for privacy issues that may arise due to this public sharing of information like phone numbers and email addresses.
8. You can pay for your item(s) by:

• Etransfer to sbpastoralcharge@gmail.com (please include: Online Auction Item #__ in the e-transfer message which you will find at the beginning of the description of the item under each picture and will be included in the private message you are sent); or

• Cash or Cheque in person when you pick up the item at Seeley’s Bay United Church between 10 and 11 am on the Saturday morning after the bidding closes on each lot.
• You can also make arrangements for pick up at an alternative time but in order to avoid confusion, we will respectfully request that you pay on the immediate Saturday after the auction to which you were the successful bidder. Thank you in advance for your cooperation with this.

All items must be paid for at time of pick up or you must have proof of etransfer.

If you have not picked up your item or at least contacted us for arrangements by Dec. 6, the item will be offered to the next highest bidder.
